Everything worth asking before you install
Including the parts most tools leave out — what the networks won't let any app do.
Getting started
Do I need to leave Shopify to use Flockly?
No. Flockly runs inside your Shopify admin as an embedded app. Your products, images and orders are already there — nothing to connect, no CSV export, no second login.
Which channels can Flockly publish to?
Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and X. All six are on every plan — we don't charge per channel. You connect each account once and Flockly posts on your behalf from then on.
What counts as a channel?
Each connected social account is one channel, so Instagram plus Facebook is two. Every plan includes all six and unlimited scheduled posts.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — 14 days, and it runs on the Growth plan so you can see the channel breakdowns and per-post detail rather than evaluating the entry tier. You pick your plan at the end.
Publishing
Can I write a different caption for each network?
Yes. Write once, then tailor any channel that needs it — a longer caption for LinkedIn, hashtags moved into a first comment on Instagram, a shorter one for X. Per-channel captions and first comments are on Growth and above.
Do I have to re-crop my images for every network?
No. Upload once and crop per channel inside Flockly — 4:5 for an Instagram feed post, 9:16 for a Story or Reel, 1.91:1 for X. The suggested crop follows the format you've chosen for that channel.
Can I put links in X posts?
Not yet — links in X posts are coming. Until then a post to X publishes with the link as plain text, and the composer warns you before you schedule it. Links work normally everywhere else.
What happens if a network rejects my post?
You're told, plainly, with the network's own reason. Flockly never marks something published that wasn't. Where we can catch a problem first — a caption over the limit, an image the wrong shape — the composer warns you before you schedule.
Analytics & revenue
How does Shopify revenue attribution work?
Flockly counts Shopify orders whose customer journey started on a tracked social link, using UTM parameters or a recognised social referrer. It covers your Shop Grid links too, and applies to posts you made outside Flockly — not only ones created in the app.
How far back does analytics history go?
30 days on Starter, 6 months on Growth, 12 months on Scale. One honest caveat: history accrues from the day you install. A store that installed last week has a week of Flockly's own history, whatever the plan allows.
Why do some metrics show as unavailable?
Because the network didn't report them. Different platforms expose very different data, and it varies by account type. Where a number isn't genuinely available, Flockly leaves the space empty and says so rather than estimating something plausible.
Why does my LinkedIn show no analytics?
LinkedIn only reports analytics for Company Pages you manage — not personal profiles. That's LinkedIn's own limitation, not Flockly's. Connect a LinkedIn Page and choose it in Connections to see its reach and engagement. Publishing and revenue attribution work either way.
Where do the "best times to post" come from?
Flockly scores your real post performance, weights recent results more heavily, and blends in per-network benchmarks where your own history is still thin. Every suggestion is labelled Benchmark, Blended or Your data, so you can always see what it was based on. Set your target region in Settings and the times are shown in your audience's timezone.
Comments & messages
Why does the comment inbox only cover three networks?
Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn are the only networks that give third-party apps a comments API. TikTok, Pinterest and X don't offer one — which means no scheduling tool can genuinely show you those comments, ours included. We'll add each the moment one opens up.
Why can't I reply to some comments?
Instagram and Facebook close the reply window seven days after a comment is left. Older comments stay visible in your inbox, but the networks no longer accept replies to them.
What is Auto-DM?
Ask followers to comment a word like LINK, and Flockly sends them a direct message with your link automatically. Instagram only — it's the only network exposing private replies to a commenter. Available on Scale.
Shop Grid
What is the Shop Grid?
A shoppable link-in-bio page built from your posts. Put its link in your Instagram or TikTok bio and followers tap straight through to the product in a post. Available on every plan.
Are Shop Grid clicks actually tracked?
Yes. Product and custom-link clicks route through a tracked redirect before the visitor reaches the destination. That records anonymous click totals and adds the campaign parameters Shopify needs for attribution, without slowing the shopper down.
Can I use my own domain for it?
Not currently. Shop Grid pages are served from Flockly's own address so they stay available outside Shopify and clicks can be tracked reliably. Per-store custom domains aren't included.
Billing
How am I billed?
Through Shopify. You approve the subscription in your Shopify admin and it appears on your regular Shopify invoice — Flockly never sees your card details. Change or cancel it from your Shopify admin at any time.
What happens to my posts if I cancel?
Anything already published stays published — it lives on the networks, not in Flockly. Scheduled posts that haven't gone out yet won't be sent. Export anything you want to keep before you cancel.
Can I change plans later?
Yes, up or down, from Plan & billing in the app. Shopify prorates the change.
